School and home cooperation
Strong cooperation between school and home is essential for creating an environment that supports each child’s development and well-being. This collaboration helps align the goals and values of both educators and parents, ensuring consistent support for students across both environments. When parents actively engage in their child's education, they reinforce the importance of learning and establish a continuity between home and school values, which fosters a positive attitude towards education.
Effective school-home cooperation also enables the school to understand the unique needs and backgrounds of their students, allowing teachers to tailor their approach to suit each child better. Regular communication between parents and teachers builds trust and creates a foundation for addressing any challenges early, whether academic, social, or behavioural. In this way, strong school-home cooperation is a vital tool in fostering a holistic learning experience that nurtures students both academically and personally.
At a minimum each class will have a weekly newsletter (sent via our intranet known as Aula), a parent information evening in August, and two face to face parent-student-teacher conferences. In addition, some grades will have specific education evenings with parents relating to further education, or drug education, and individual consultations with the school health nurse or education councillor.
Parents are encouraged to contact the class teacher first with any questions or concerns relating to their child’s education or wellbeing.
The school’s communication platform is called Aula, which is available as a mobile app. School notices, messages, photos, year plans and more is available through Aula. Parents are encouraged to check Aula daily.
