# First Day of School

welcome everyone back, especially our new families joining the LIS community. 🌍❤️

 Welcome back ! What a fantastic first day!

The school is alive again with excited children, happy reunions, new friendships and lots of energy.

It was wonderful to welcome everyone back, especially our new families joining the LIS community.

A very special welcome to our Grade 0 pupils, who had their very first day of school today! Starting school is a huge milestone, and we hope you had a wonderful first day. We’re so happy to have you with us!

As we start another exciting school year, it’s also a good opportunity to share a few key facts about Lolland International School:

- 180 students 32 nationalities represented Around 40 languages spoken by our families
- Not just for foreigners: 26% of our students are Danish
- We are a municipal international grundskole — a public school run by Lolland Kommune, not a private school.
- LIS has a unique role in our community: bringing together children from Denmark and around the world and providing an international education within the Danish public-school system.
